Detailed Overview & Step-by-Step Instructions
Vidversity enables educators and course creators to transform raw video into structured, highly interactive learning experiences. The course creation workflow consists of four main phases: uploading media, editing content, building chapters with interactive elements, and publishing/distribution.
Phase 1: Uploading & Managing Media
Launch & Access: From the main dashboard, launch the Vidversity platform and navigate to Upload/Record Video.
Capture or Import: Upload local .mp4 video files (up to 4.0 GB) or record content directly using camera or screen capture features.
Categorize Content: Assign videos to specific categories to keep your asset library organized and easily searchable during course assembly.
Phase 2: Video Trimming & Chaptering
Non-Destructive Editing: Vidversity allows you to trim segments out of an original video without altering or losing the master file.
Marking In/Out Points: Play your raw video and set precise Mark IN and Mark OUT points to isolate key topics.
Saving Clips: Name each trimmed segment with a clear title, select the corresponding category, and click Cut & Save to create distinct video assets ready for chapter insertion.
Phase 3: Course & Chapter Assembly
Create a Course: From the dashboard, select Create Course, provide a descriptive title, set categories, and decide on learner navigation settings (such as allowing learners to skip chapters).
Build Chapters: Add chapters sequentially, naming each one and assigning a saved video clip to serve as the core video for that chapter.
Phase 4: Enhancing Engagement with Interactive Layers
Vidversity allows you to layer interactive overlays on top of your video chapters using timeline sliders:
Slideshows: Upload image files (.png or .jpeg exported from PowerPoint) as introduction or overlay slides, and position them along the video timeline.
Pop-Up Notes: Add interactive notes that pause video playback to highlight key takeaways. These notes automatically aggregate into a downloadable/printable handout for learners.
Resources & Annotations: Embed external web links/documents or add on-screen subtitles and non-pausing visual annotations.
Interactive Quizzes: Insert True/False or multiple-choice assessment questions at specific timestamps to test retention and reinforce learning.
Phase 5: Preview, Publish & Share
Review & Preview: Lock your course structure and click Publish, followed by Preview Course, to review learner-side navigation, mobile responsiveness, and interactive pop-ups.
Distribution Options: Click Share to generate direct shareable links, set access permissions, or export SCORM packages for upload into third-party Learning Management Systems (LMS).
